The Huntingdale Cherubs Playgroup has vacancies for 2009!   

Playgroup STARTS back  from the 2nd Feb 2009

The Cherubs is a local community Playgroup run by a committee of playgroup parents and is a member of Playgroup WA (Inc).

Our focus is on providing a happy play environment and facilitating social interaction for both children and their carers.

We provide a wide variety of play equipment, weekly activities and an outing for each term.

Some things about us :

Our outdoor playground has a large undercover verandah, shade sails, leafy trees and is equiped with baby and toddler swings, a large sandpit, cubbyhouse, mini-monkey bars, slides and lots of toys for riding, pulling or pushing around.

Our premises are large and spacious (a converted house) with aircondioning for the warm summer months, heating for winter, a designated kitchen, play areas set up for both babies (the loungeroom) and toddlers (the games room). Because of these spacious rooms our playgroup has a quiet hum of activity as the children have room to move about and enjoy their games without disturbing others.  

Each session of our playgroup has a wide variety of free play, imaginative play and guided play activities designed to appeal to young children. Children are free to choose which activities they would like to do and when they would like to do them. Some of our usual activities include: Water play, playdough, Flour play, Bubbles, painting, stamping, collage, homecorner play, car mat play, blocks, doll care and doll house play, obstacle courses, and we usually end each session with stories, songs and movement (where everyone joins in).

We have a low cost outing for each term eg The bus wash, visiting the baby animal farm, swimming at the aquatic centre.

We organise several Mums nights outs during the year where the parents for each session get together and have a nice dinner out giving them a chance to socialise without their children.

We welcome all parents and carers (Mums, Dads, Grandparents etc) and love to have both young and young at heart mums.  (We currently have 3 grandparents & 2 Dads)

Our fees are $20 per term and a piece of fruit for each session.  Plus a yearly insurance fee of $28 that is paid to the Playgroup WA association. 

We run Three sessions per week –  

Monday            9.30am –11.30am - Multi age group  Mostly 2-4yr olds -  Vacancies

Tuesday          9.30am -11.30am  - Mostly Under 18m with some older siblings. - Vacancies

Wednesday    9.30am –11.30  am - Multi age group Mostly 2-3 yr olds - Limited Vacancies as of 16/01/09

The Playgroup is located in Thornlie

Behind St Andrews Church* on the corner of Thornlie Ave and Camberley St.
